Work Parties
Work Parties meet on the Third Thursday monthly at 10 a.m.
Depending on the numbers who turn up, the availability of Registered leaders, priority of tasks, and the weather, we sometimes operate 2 separate Work Parties.
Volunteers are encouraged to help by meeting early if they can at 9.45 a.m. at the Fernery to allow time to distribute tools, and move into position for a prompt start at 10 a.m.

Work Party 2 – Local Nature Reserve
Details of the work expected to be undertaken is publicised in advance on a volunteers WhatsApp group so that volunteers have an opportunity to decide, before they arrive, which of the two Work Parties they would prefer to join. The WhatsApp Group notifies volunteers when meetings have to be cancelled at short notice because of adverse weather conditions etc..

New Volunteers.
On your first arrival you will be asked to complete a Registration Form (for Insurance purposes) which will be held confidentially by the Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (the site owners). Once registered, volunteers are invited to join thea FODF WhatsApp group which keeps them up-to-date on relevant activities and news.
