A cold and frosty morning caused the cancellation of our scheduled Tuesday Gardening Group meeting, but it didn’t stop visitors! The intrepid walkers from the Walking for Health group in the village were determined to include the Fernery on their Danesbury Walk on the morning of 9th January 2024. But they did bump into our Chair Sara, who was there with puppy Kate, under training as a Guide Dog.

Is it suitable yo push someone in a wheelchair please
John Roper says
Dear Jan
Sorry about the delay in responding.
Unfortunately the kissing gates on the Nature reserve, and at the entrance to the Fernery itself, do not allow space for wheelchair access.
If you were able to collapse a chair to get through you would still find it difficult to reach the fernery across the rough grass field which sometimes has cattle on it, and difficult manoeuvring the paths within the Fernery itself as they are quite steep and can be slippery too.
Sorry that we cannot give you a more helpful response.
