Welwyn Festival – Award

6th November 2021 By John Roper Leave a Comment

The Welwyn Festival Committee has generously awarded a donation to the FODF as a result of our September Open Garden Evening which supported their 2021 Autumn Festival.

Writing to the Friends of Danesbury Fernery, Catherine Farrell, Chair of the Welwyn Festival Committee says that:

From the proceeds of Welwyn Festival and Welwyn 10k we are making some donations to local charities and groups. Each year in recognition of Andy Trotter’s long service to Welwyn Festival we initiated the Andy Trotter Award, and Andy chooses a charity or local group to benefit. I am delighted to let you know that Andy has chosen Friends of Danesbury ‘The Fernery’ as his chosen charity”.

In reply, the Chairman of the FODF, John Roper, has said:

The coveted Andy Trotter Award adds hugely to our feelings of pride and humility in being able to partner the wonderful Welwyn Festival Committee, who work so tirelessly and so successfully for the benefit of the entire community.

The Fernery volunteers feel proud and privileged to have played a part.
